1893 - The Stafford Story Begins... Charlotte Cohen registers the small clothing firm of C.A Cohen & Co. at 270 Brunswick Street Fitzroy
1900 - Transferred operations to the new premises of 424 Smith street, Collingwood.
1946 - The Lubansky family pool their resources and acquire C. A. Cohen & Co. Which, by this time, had shrunk to a staff of six and was operating in a small rented section of the Collingwood factory.
1948 - The business name of 'Stafford Clothing Co' is registered. A name chosen because of its appropriateness for the menswear industry and homage to Organisation legacy.
1954 - With a staff of over 100 people, the company outgrows its Collingwood premises and moves its administration and distribution to Melbourne proper.
1958 - The Lubanskys take over the huge clothing manufacturers Ellinson Bros. As a cost of $1 million, it is the biggest take-over in the history of the Australian clothing industry at the time. A new name is adopted for a new era: Stafford Ellinson Pty Ltd. To mark this new era, the company opens its first trade school.
1959 - Stafford take over F.J Palmer.
1960 - Stafford take over Whittaker Clothing Co.
1961 - Stafford launch the first McGregor range manufactured and distributed under licence from McGregor Doniger Inc. USA
1962 - Stafford becomes a public company.
1964 - Stafford acquires Robell Apparel.
1965 - Stafford becomes the first Australian company to be admitted as a member of the International Fashion Council.
1971 - Sir Henry Bolte, Premier of Victoria, opens the new Eaglehawk plant, one of the most advanced garment manufacturing complexes in Australia.
1973 - Stafford launches the first "London PARK" range, comprising suits and jackets.
1977 - Stafford acquire Ernest Hiller and Anthony Squires which brings the sophisticated Anthony Squires, La Casa Parini and Sax Altman labels into the Stafford stable.
1978 - Launch of the first 'Christian Dior Collection' manufactured and distributed under licence from Christian Dior, Paris.
1981- Cambridge clothing Co. NZ becomes a licensee for the Stafford Ellinson and Giotto Labels.
1983 - Stafford converts to a private company
1984 - Stafford enters the corporate wardrobe market under 'Stafford Corporate'
1987 - Stafford Opens a new Apparel Plant in Eaglehawk VIC.
1987 - Stafford Establishes a major manufacturing facility in Fiji to service growth in the Australian market and international markets.
1990 - Stafford Group is selected to launch the first 'Yves Saint Laurent Collection' manufactured and distributed throughout ANZ under licence from Yves Saint Laurent France.
1993 - The Stafford Group is the first Australian owned clothing company to achieve the coveted AS 3901 (ISO 9001) rating, the strictest level of quality accreditation available in the world. This is a vital step in Stafford's continuing pursuit of 'WORLD best Practice' which to the Stafford Group means comparing and competing with the world's best.
1993 - Stafford Group celebrates a century of fashion heritage with a gala fashion event attended by distinguished industry guests, at the company's head office. To commemorate Stafford Group's 100th anniversary, the company takes on 50 unemployed people as part of the federal Government's national skill share program.
1999 - The Stafford Ellinson Frequent Flyer Suit is developed and successfully launched with Qantas
2003 - Stafford celebrates its 110th anniversary. To ensure the company remains a leader within the industry, the first stage of 'world best practice' in supply chain management is commissioned.
2004 - Stafford launches the prestigious Hardy Amies tailored clothing line made under license from Hardy Amies London.
2005 - 1096 by Stafford Ellinson. Stafford Group launches a world first on the Australian market. 1096 is a unique two trouser suit guaranteed for three years and a day.
2005 - British Tailor is launched under licence from BMB (British menswear brands) the largest manufacturer and distributor of men's suits in the United Kingdom.
2006 - Stafford becomes a member of the greenhouse challenge plus program. This meant a reduction of greenhouse emissions of 875 tonnes per annum.
2006 - Peter Costello, visits the plant at Preston to mark production of the 5 millionth Anthony Squires suit, to launch Anthony Squires New generation label and to present Staff Recognition Awards.
2011 - Australian Wool innovation and Stafford Group in joint training seminars to further educate sales consultants in features and benefits of wool. These ongoing training seminars assist teams and independant retailers in selling more wool.
2019 - Launch of Tailored By Stafford, renaissance of Stafford Corporate B2B division.
2022 - Launch of Botherwolf designer streetwear DTC brand.
2023 – Launch of Larriet designer workwear DTC brand.
